Bio ethanol fires work with bio ethanol fuel which can be purchased in 1 litre or 5 litre bottles.
The Bio ethanol Liquid fuel is simply poured into the firebox chamber and lit with a long lighter or match. In manual fireboxes the ethanol is burning the surface area of fuel and makes an orange flame that becomes hotter over time. The larger the surface the greater the heat output which means that longer ribbon fires need especialiy engineered design to control heat output.
The digital bio ethanol fireplace is ignighted remotely and is pre programmed with 6 heat/flame settings which can be adjusted with the hand held remote or on an ipod touch or ipad.
Natural substances are the by-products of bio-alcohol combustion:
carbon dioxide (CO2) and water vapor.
These substances are in the air we breathe. The bio-fuel is thus considered neutral as far as the formation of CO2 is concerned
The amount of CO2 produced in combustion is comparable with several candles burning or the air exhaled by 8-10 people. About 0.2 liters of water is produced per hour.
